As of 9/23/24, I had exactly 999 acts of kindness for my black belt requirement. I realized that I had to commemorate my last act. For this occasion, I picked something that I have done many times before but wanted to make it special. The medical assistants I work with LOVE the scones from Coffee Works. They ask if I can bring more frequently. I actually bring them to the office almost on a monthly basis anyway but it was very appropriate to be my 1000th act. As always, they were overjoyed and very grateful that I brought them in and I wanted to capture the moment.
I used to be a bit put off when I would do something nice for someone and it wasn’t reciprocated or appreciated. Sometimes I felt taken advantage of which is never fun. I have realized by doing all these acts that the actual act of doing something nice is truly its own reward. By letting go of the feeling that I should be rewarded for doing a kind act, I realized how great a feeling it is just to do something nice. To make someone’s day or bring them at least a moment of joy. It’s a great thing and I plan to continue performing acts of kindness daily.
That is a really cool act of kindness. You made their day. I am glad that you do it and expect nothing in return. Acts of kindness make the world a better place. It is easy to do. It makes people smile and happy. When I complete the 1000 acts of kindness I will not stop.I will continue to do them for the rest of my life.
