This week in particular has been a difficult one for me. Amid trying to recover from a very busy holiday season and dealing with the loss of a loved one, work and life have both been busy. It has been difficult to train or even get to class. I get the feeling that I’m drowning in obligations and not able to focus on myself or my training adequately. I have found that daily meditation has been a cornerstone to keep me sane in times like these. Meditation started as difficult to “stop” my mind, even for 15 minutes a day, but has now become a welcome solace from the fray of life chaos. Through meditation, we are able to hit the pause button and see more clearly what we need to keep going and stay afloat. It’s always amazing to me how clearly I am able to see things after meditation. What started as a chore has now become a welcome and essential part of the day. I am thankful for this journey and to be able to have gained this ability to cope.
