I sprained my knee about a month ago on January 19th. I am still recovering, but getting a little stronger every day. I went to the Monday morning class that Elan teaches. I really needed to get on the mat and see how things felt. We went through the upper body basics. It was a good review. It was a smaller class which was perfect for where I am at right now. I ran through Seisan, reeeeaaaally slow. As long as, I was mindful of my stances and avoided kicks, I was okay. I tried Kusanku… which was harder, too much too soon. But at least I have a starting point. Upper body basics are our foundation, it was a good review and reminder that I need to be practicing those. Still super bummed about how limited I am. I did start walking here and there, but if I walk too far, I am very sore the next day. My goal is to be able to do some light sparring in two more weeks. This injury hit me differently in a lot of ways. I have been meditating more. I have been trying to be more mindful and not get frustrated. Baby steps 🤜🏻🤛🏻

1 thought on “Recovery

  1. Recovery takes time and patience. Keep doing it a little at a time. Soon you will be able to do more and more until you will be back to where you were. See you at the dojo soon.
