As the saying goes, a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. I took that step a few days ago by joining the 2025 black belt program. Much like my first step into the dojo over 10 years ago, I was excited and also nervous to push my limits as a martial artist, an athlete, and a man. I’m honored to take part in this experience – even if like Musashi, I may walk the path alone. In life I often catch myself, with good intentions, over-planning my next task or goal – which often becomes a procrastination all its own. While having a plan is important, I realize now that one simply has to take one single step and keep moving forward.

Welcome to the journey. It will be a memorable and rewarding year.
Best of Luck! Find support when you need it and anything can be accomplished!
Just like Elan said, you will never be able to forget this year. Good luck, and make sure to have good support circles, it makes the test so much better.
