Written by About two weeks ago I had an appointment with an Aviation Medical Examier(AME) to get an aviation medical. For the license that I am looking to obtain, I need at least a 3rd class medical. I, however, got a first class medical since one is required for both flying airliners, and also for the college program that I am currently looking into. My first class medical lasts one year, so I will have to get another one next october.
