Jus realized that I didn’t finish talking about my not so recent at this point trip to europe.

Me and my dad took a day trip from Liège to Köln(Cologne).  We took a Deutsche Bahn(DB) ICE, which is german high speed trains. It took about 1 hour, and it was a pretty good train, much better than the NS train we had taken to get from Amsterdam to Liége. Köln Hbf is right next to the Koelner Dom, which is really cool to see when you have just left the train station. We needed to eat breakfast, so we hit the starbucks that is part of the train station, for drinks, and then we walked to a bakery merzenich. We ordered berliners which where very good. We then walked through a mall type area. One of the first things we noticed is that there were a lot of candy stores. So naturally we picked up some german haribo to bring home. Its way better than american haribo. We kept walking around for a little bit. Once the swatch store opened, we went over there and looked at the moonswatches, which were pretty cool, but we didnt buy any. We then walked to the Koelner Dom and checked it out, while looking at potential places to eat nearby. We spent about 15 minutes inside and then walked out. By this point we were pretty hungry, so we went to a burger place called Freddy Schilling – Die Hamburger Manufaktur. To get there we took the S-Bahn, which is Köln’s subway system. Unfortunately our first train was very slow and we got kicked off a stop early. We then took the next train which was much faster. The burgers were very good, and the beer was good too. We then took a trip to a place we thought had a store, but in fact did not. We had to take the DB regiobahn, which is regional trains from Köln-Hansaring to Lövenich station. We took a bus, that we didn’t pay for about half a mile, then took some lime scooters back to the station when we discovered that we had not found what we were looking for. It was interesting but not what we were looking for. We eventually returned to Köln Hbf, where we waited for about two hours before heading back to Liège. I would absolutely love to head back to Germany at some point. In typical german fashion every single train we took that day was at least ten minutes late, so at least we didn’t have the worst DB experience we could’ve had. Germany is known for its efficiency but that does not apply to trains at all.
