A lot of firsts
It’s the first week of December 2021. The Elf is on the shelf again, Christmas calendars are out, and the weather is getting cooler. It is also my first week of doing 50k pushups, 50k sit ups, 1000 miles, 1000 katas, and 1000 acts of kindness – oh boy!
I am excited!!
The Excel table to track the progress is prepared. So far the pie charts still show a lot more NEED than ACTUAL. While I am writing this, I am down 1% on my push and sit-ups – 555 for both. I picked my first book to read – Zen in the Martial Arts. It’s a short book, but has a lot of depth. I could fill my blog with just talking about the first few pages I read (going to do that in a future one).
Anyway, today was California International Marathon. Ike, Matt, Ryan, and David from the dojo participated. I passed out some water and oranges at the dojo, cheering them on. How my own miles are coming along you are asking? Well, I am not the running type. I will rely more on my bike to get my mileage counter going, although I am behind with just 12 miles so far and need to step up the game.
Today, David put 26 miles on his counter and he qualified with personal best (3:17h) for the Boston Marathon. Congratulations, man!
Need to check with Geneva on her progress on Tuesday.
