Week 10 – Dirk Herfurth

Little update on my progress. All of the push-ups and sit-ups numbers are doing well. I am on course. Issues so far? My left shoulder joint hurts a little from all the exercise. I counter that with some turmeric/ ginger capsules. The use of turmeric dates back 4000 years in India and made it through China to the rest of Asia over the course of time. It is well known and used by martial artists and yogis to fight joint inflammation. Also, it supports the overall immune system and is heart healthy.

However, as with all nature dietary supplements, it takes time to work. I am on it since a week and I think it starts to work – could be placebo effect though, need to monitor it.

Last weekend we started sparring with Andrew san, a black belt from a neighboring dojo. It was some good exercise that brought some variety in David’s and my routine. Andrew is practicing for is Nidan (second degree black belt) test in December. So, I guess we will see him more often now.
