This week has been a ton of fun. The three day weekend made time for my dad and I to meet my aunt, uncle, and cousin at our family’s condo in the Sierra. The weather has been pretty rainy and cloudy so we couldn’t go hiking as we had planned. The rain kept us inside for a while but we still walked around the lake and the small town area, Lakeshore. This week we were assigned a big project in AP Environmental Science to collect ~30 plant samples, press them, and organize them in a binder. Going up to the Sierra gave me the perfect opportunity to collect some flowers and other plants Auburn doesn’t have. My cousin and I went and wandered around the lake for a while collecting samples and I got a good amount. Later on we went to a small festival of sorts with some local vendors and music and it was pretty fun. It was raining so we didn’t stay too long. I got some freeze dried skittles from one of the booths and they were so much better than normal skittles. Would definitely recommend them.
One of my favorite parts of this week was the blue super moon that happened on the 30th. There won’t be another one for 14 years if I’m remembering correctly and I was able to get some decent photos of the moon using my phone camera and a pair of binoculars.
