Cooper Riegel – Week 53

Last week marked the start of ski season and I finally got to go up this week. The snow at Sugar Bowl was decent for the conditions but there were only 3 runs open. The mountain got super crowded because of this so my dad and I ended up leaving after a few hours. Overall, it was definitely a good day on the mountain and I haven’t really lost any of the skills I learned last season. On Monday, I officially finished my Dual Enrollment Spanish class at Sierra College. A couple friends and I had to record a mock travel commercial for Uxmal, a Mayan temple in the Yucatan. I also finished my big project for AP Environmental Science this week. The project was to collect at least 30 samples of flowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees in total as well as some invasive species. I collected 40 samples, pressed them to dry and flatten them, and then arranged them in a binder. The project took a couple months between collecting the plants and the time they took to dry out. I won’t be able to turn it in until next week but I am sure it will get a good grade.

My current Challenge progress as of May 19, 2024.
