I’ve been going to this same tournament in Dixon for so many years now but this time I went it was way different. I didn’t compete in kata or point sparring like usual, I only competed in knockdown sparring. I’ve done knockdown sparring before so it wasn’t new to me but I’m still getting the used to it. Unfortunately I lost my match but me and my opponent had to go into one minute of over time because we were tied after the first two minutes. I feel like I did well but I exerted all of my energy in the beginning of the match which I have a bad habit of doing in those type of matches. I’m still trying to get the hang of that kind of sparring so I will just have to train with that typeof fighting technique more often. Overall I had a fun time just getting the chance to be at another tournament with some friends that I’ve met at past tournaments too.
