In a personal quest to be overall more healthy, I am finding how important good eating is to just plain feeling good. I found limiting sugar to be the most beneficial so far. Having dessert or eating something sweet before bed really effects my sleep negatively. I love food in general but especially sweets. By eliminating just that one thing, I sleep so much better. I wake up much more rested and feel less dehydrated. I also have more energy throughout the day and feel I get better training as a result. A great “dessert hack” I found is frozen fruits, like grapes or blueberries. It fulfills the sweet cravings without the after effects of eating processed sweets. By also adding in more vegetables and non-processed foods, it really does make a big difference. It certainly is easier to just microwave a frozen meal or get take out, especially after a long day, but choosing to cook fresh foods really pays off. I don’t have the indigestion or reflux that processed food usually give me. As always, sticking to these lifestyle changes will be the hard part. Just have to remember the final goal of improved overall health and let the benefits keep me encouraged to keep going.

Great job on eating healthier. Treat yourself to a treat once in a while during the day. Then you won’t feel like you are depriving yourself. If it is earlier in the day it won’t effect your sleep. I have the same sleep problems if I eat a dessert in the evenings. I just eat it the next day in the daytime.
Thank you Elan! Healthiness is definitely worthwhile
