I passed my black belt test! I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing community and had the privilege to participate in such a test. Out of the 13 months there were some ups but there definitely was their fair share of downs. The test itself was brutal, I’ve never been too physically exhausted in my life but I think that’s the way things should be. I’m so thankful I had all the support from family and students alike and I couldn’t have done it without them. After 12 years of training I achieved my black belt. This doesn’t mean my journey is done though, this is just the start. I can’t wait to refine my skills and become a better person as well as a better karate-ka!

Congratulations Lucas! I’m very sorry I couldn’t make it to your test. However, the few times we sparred showed me you were well-prepared for the test. You’re energy and enthusiasm are inspiring and will serve you well in Isshinryu as well as in life.
Well done. That was an amazing test. I am so glad I was there to participate and experience it.
@lucas-g, You showed great technique and spirit in your test. You’re right, that test wasn’t easy. If it were easy, anyone would do it, and we don’t want just anyone getting a black-belt in our dojo. This one was most definitely earned. Welcome to the club.
