    Season Changes

With Spring upon us, it brings about a sense of renewal in me. This sense of renewal paves way for opportunity and the hope of good things to come. Not that winter was unpleasant by any means. Winter had its own…

    • That is a gorgeous picture. Where did you take it? A good way to approach every class is to try and do better and learn more. Thanks for the advice.

    Animal Buds

Animals have always been a passion for me. As a boy, my dream job would have been a nature show host, like Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter. His passion for conservation and genuine love of all animals of all…

I’ve recently experienced the benefits of swallowing pride and seeking out assistance when needed. I have always been someone who takes care of their own problems, very stubbornly I might add. Admitting that I e…

    • We are not meant to be perfect. We make mistakes and learn from them. Life would not be interesting without making mistakes. There is nothing wrong with asking for help or making a mistake. Don’t be so hard on yourself. We are here to help each other out.

    • That’s incredible Matt. As a man, I know how difficult it can be to ask for help. Pride will always result in humiliation. But when we are humble we give ourselves permission to get stronger.

      • Yes absolutely! What prompted my thoughts on this was actually a friend of mine who is going through a hard time financially and is refusing to ask for help as she would be too embarrassed. I reflected on my own instances of being prideful and realized how often I actually do that. I fully agree with your statement about “when we are humble, we give ourselves permission to get stronger”. Excellently put. Thank you

    Healthy Eating

In a personal quest to be overall more healthy, I am finding how important good eating is to just plain feeling good. I found limiting sugar to be the most beneficial so far. Having dessert or eating something…

    • Great job on eating healthier. Treat yourself to a treat once in a while during the day. Then you won’t feel like you are depriving yourself. If it is earlier in the day it won’t effect your sleep. I have the same sleep problems if I eat a dessert in the evenings. I just eat it the next day in the daytime.
