One of my classes this year is peer tutoring, which encompasses me helping out in a class at the elementary school which we are connected with. I was assigned the kindergarten class which has definitely been an experience so far. One of the kids is quite the troublemaker, however most of them are fine. They are of course just learning how things work so far, so it should improve soon. For now they are quite loud, so thankfully I only have to spend 50 minutes with them instead of the three- six hours the school staff have to stay with them. Kindergarten has definitely changed since I was in it 12 years ago. Youtube is widely used for help with teaching things like the alphabet and the numbers. When I was in K we didn’t really have these things, so its nice to see the evolution of the way kindergarten is taught.

My current Challenge progress as of December 23, 2024.

  1. I volunteered in kindergarten. It can be a rewarding enjoyable experience. You are helping kids learn. It is a great age to be helping out. Enjoy the year.
