Continuing from where the last post left off, I wanted to finish my official report of Japan. From Okinawa, we went to Osaka and then Kyoto. Osaka is a large city with excellent food. Kyoto has beautiful temples and is very rustic. Both were amazing to see. After those cities, we went to the Hakone region (which is near Mt Fuji) and stayed at a ryokan hotel. These are tradition Japanese inns that offer a cultural experience and a glimpse into Japanese hospitality and lifestyle. The rooms had parchment partitions and we wore kimonos throughout the whole inn. The food was amazing and unique. They also had hot spring baths, one of which was in a cave. The hikes and sights in this area were amazing and beautiful. We finally ended back in Tokyo for the last 2 days and then flew back to the US. Overall this trip was a top 10 life experience for me that I’ll never forget. I would definitely love to go back as soon as possible.
