This blog is for the second day of my trip to socal from a little more than a week ago.
I woke up in the hotel room at around 6:30 and we went to a get breakfast at a starbucks that was down the road. Coincidentally, this starbucks was also right next to the airport, which means I could watch the planes take off, which I quite enjoy. I didn’t really want to eat the food from starbucks, so I went into a bagel place right next to it and grabbed a bagel. Unfortunately, the bagel wasn’t very good, but it was food, and I still ate it. After, we went back to the hotel to change before we went to my Cousin’s graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony was held at the Bren Center in UC Irvine. We got there before the rest of my family, and started to wait in line. The line was quite long, and very disorganized. It seemed as if no one actually knew what was happening, including the Bren Center staff. Eventually after waiting in line for about 20 minutes, the doors were opened. It was quite chaotic inside, but eventually we got to our seats. Then at around 9:45, 15 minutes late, the ceremony started. My cousin goes to a catholic school, so there was a lot of catholic stuff that I didn’t pay any attention to. The ceremony lasted about an hour and a half. After the ceremony was over we were told to go to gate 4 which was where all the graduates were. It was also a mess and very disorganized, and eventually we made our way through the crowd to the entrance to the parking garage. We then returned to our hotel and then immediately went to the Fashion Island mall in newport beach. We went to the R + D kitchen for lunch, but there was a wait so we put our name on the list and went out into the mall and walked around. My mom and aunt went into some of the stores and I sat outside at a table. This was because during this weekend, a motorsport race, the 24 hours of nurburgring was going on and I wanted to watch it. Unfortunately, the race livestream on youtube was geolocked in the US, so to get around it I used a VPN connected to poland to access the race. It was quite a good race until it got red-flagged for having too much fog. After 45 minutes our name got called for the lunch place and we went and had lunch there. After lunch we went to my Aunt’s house in Laguna Beach for a hike. We went hiking in the laguna hills and it was quite difficult. It was very steep but thankfully it was only about four miles. We then went back to my aunt’s house and we had dinner and stayed there four a few hours before returning to the hotel.
