Food Intake

If you have been following along with my blogs, you might have noticed how I have mentioned my eating habits in a few separate blogs. In mid-August, right about when school started back up again, I started struggling with my ability to eat. There would be days when I would feel starving, but when I was presented with food options, absolutely nothing sounded appealing. There would be other days that I would go without eating much at all, and other days where I could barely even keep my food down without getting sick. Over the past few months, my eating habits have been getting gradually better; however, it is still a struggle some days. My parents and I had been trying for a while to find foods that I could easily eat, and we have made some progress in finding good foods for me. However, in the last couple of weeks, and with some assistance from some of the black belts at the dojo, there has been more of a push to try eating high-protein foods and meals to help with my low iron. I have been experimenting with some different things, but right now I am drinking protein shakes, eating many protein bars, and I have been trying some multivitamins so that I am getting all of my vitamins in each day. I have seen some progress, and I am hoping for even more!

  1. I am glad you have found food that you can eat through out the day. That will help you maintain your energy level all day. You have so much extra exercise to do every day and food equals energy to do that. I think we all experienced different hurdles to get through during the challenge. You are figuring out ways to overcome come those hurdles. Keep it up.
