Yesterday at karate, two of my close friends, Elinor and Avi, got their second stripe on their brown belts! I have been training with both of them for around five years, and I have grown very close to them over the years. Over the years its been a back and forth of all of us passing each other up for the highest ranking student out of us three. And now they both have their second stripe, the last stripe on your brown belt before you start your black belt test! It’s crazy to think that around a year ago, I was receiving my second stripe and starting truly give thought to how my life would look while doing this test. It took a few months, but I think that I am finally used to having this test be a part of my day-to-day life. I’m excited that we could have some new black belt candidates in the dojo in the near future. It’ll be strange to see new people, who aren’t me, going through this process, but very exciting. I look forward to cheering them on for their test, as they have been cheering me on for my test!
