This week I went on a long scenic hike near lake Orville. I hiked 6 miles up and down rolling hills. It is the best time of the year for wildflowers at that elevation. There were purple, yellow, orange, white, pink, blue, and red flowers. I wish I could put all of the pictures of flowers on this post. It was like seeing all the colors of the rainbow on the ground. The oak trees were in full bloom with green grass everywhere thanks to all the rain we have been getting. We attempted to find a hidden waterfall off the main trail. Although we never found it, we did go back to the main trail to see ravine falls and phantom falls. We saw turkey vultures, butterflies, birds, and lots of cows along the way. I am reading the book The Art Of Peace. There is a really great quote that relates to my hike. “Every thing even mountains, rivers, plants, and trees- should be your teacher.” Every time I get outside and hike, ski, walk, or bike I feel wonderful. I enjoy being alive and appreciate the amazing things the world has to offer.

Some would argue that nature is our greatest teacher.
