I was drinking my good earth tea in the morning when I read this writing on top of the tea bag. “May you always do what you are afraid to do” by unknown. It seemed the perfect fortune for me. I have been afraid of this black belt test since it had been introduced that I could be a black belt candidate. I never actually believed that I would be a black belt candidate. It was nebulous to me and unreachable. I had many doubts about starting this because of previous injuries. I did not believe I could do it. Many of my friends and husband encouraged me to do it. Without them I would have been too afraid to even try. Now that I am in the process of the test it is not so daunting and scary. I am so thankful for my friends and husband. They helped me face what I was afraid to do and go for it. Whatever happens I know I have not failed because I took the first step and tried.
