I recently finished my 50,000 pushups, 50,000 sit ups, and 52 blog posts. I am very excited to have completed 50,000 pushups and sit ups. When I first started this black belt challenge I was skeptical that I would be able to do 50,000 of both. I asked myself how can I do that? Now I have the answer. I did some everyday except when I was sick or injured. I did 140 almost everyday. I choose to do a higher number than 125 everyday to finish on time. I wanted to build a cushion in case I got injured or sick. It worked. Even though there were a few days I could not do them I completed them early. It took time, energy, determination, and dedication to do it. Little things do add up to big things. I will continue to do them because I need to be in shape for the test. I will also continue to write blogs. They help me really think about this journey and put it in words how I feel.
My husband, Ryan, is my inspiration through out this entire journey. Today he ran the CIM and completed running 26.2 miles. He worked in training through out the year even when it was difficult with many life distractions. His dedication and hard work paid off. He told me I will run the marathon while you do the black belt challenge at the same time. Many of my miles came from biking with him on his runs. He completed his goal today. My goal is next. I biked 8 miles, walked 2 miles with the dog, practiced kata, and kindness today after his marathon. Soon it will be my turn to complete my challenge.
The picture was taken in Monterey. The ocean always inspires me to exercise, swim, and enjoy the outdoors.
Congrats elan! What a huge accomplishment to both you and Ryan. Keep it up!
