This week I was lucky to get a free kayak tour with California State Parks. I would like to thank Horacio for giving the amazing tour and loaning me his kayak. My friend Nooshin told me about it and invited me to join her. I saw a bald eagle fly over lake Natomas, a swan nesting, a Canada goose nesting, double crested cormorant nest with around 20 birds in the tree, a wood pecker, turkey vultures, and a turtle. We are fortunate to have such an incredible wildlife area so close to the city of Sacramento. I definitely used my arm muscles to move the kayak through the water. The pushups are really helping to strengthen my arms. The book The Art Of Peace has a very fitting quote for what I experienced on the lake. “Create each day anew by clothing yourself with wisdom and love, and placing yourself in the heart of Mother Nature.” I think if people spent more time in nature observing and appreciating it there would be less conflict in the world.

Sounds like a wonderful time, connecting with a friend and spending time on the water experiencing the different perspective it provides.
I have an irrational fear of kayaking… I am scared I will flip over and get suck underneath the kayak and drown. 😮 I dont know where that comes from because I have never even been kayaking before lol Looks like a great way to get out and see some wildlife.
