Happy New Year! This is officially the year of my black belt test. It’s honestly surreal to think about that, considering I’ve been doing karate for almost 9 years. Getting a black belt has always been a really big goal for me in my training, and the fact that I’m going to be testing for it this year is honestly crazy to me. I don’t typically set New Year’s resolutions, but this year I am. Because this test is a huge part of my life right now, my resolutions are centered around this test. My main goals for the year are to catch up on all of my numbers. I talk a lot on my blogs about how I am working towards catching up on my pushups and sit-ups, but I am working really hard to catch up on all of my other numbers. This includes my pushups and sit-ups, but also my miles, kata, sparring, meditation, books, blogs, and makiwara. I have also been working on my community service project recently. I haven’t 100% decided on what I am going to do, but I’m sure that I will be posting about it soon.
