The New Year is approaching fast. It will be 2024 in a few days. Time is going by so fast. I have never made a New Year’s resolution. I never believed in something strong enough to make a resolution. This year that changes. My New Year’s resolution is to continue this black belt test, improve, grow, change, and triumph through it. I will work everyday to make it a part of my life. On those days when I am tired and soar I will think of my goal and what I need to do to get there. It is reachable and attainable. It will take dedication, persistance, and time. This picture is like my test. I start with a full box of cookies. I take one cookie one day at a time until there are no more cookies in the box. If I take too many of them I will not feel well. I do a little karate everyday. I do not do too much or I could get hurt. One day the box will be empty and I will have completed all my black belt requirements. This New Year’s resolution is the one I plan to keep.

Achieving a giant goal is simply a matter of accumulating small, daily victories. Like you said, it’s like taking one cookie out of the box at a time until there are no more left.
This is a great way to look at our task at hand. I especially like how you acknowledge doing a little at a time to balance things out.
Yes! Small things, done consistently over time lead to great results. Your insight on taking small bites is valuable too. We have to consider the longevity of our training too. We want to enjoy karate for many years to come–not just a single flash-in-the-pan year.
