Swim Meet and Olympics

This last weekend I went to my daughter’s swim meet at North Natomas Aquatic Center with City of Sacramento Aquatics Recreation League.  It was inspiring watching all the kids from 7 years old to 17 swim.  Some look like they have just started being able to swim 2 laps while others look like they are serious competitors.  I volunteered to do timing in the second half of the meet.  The kids looked like they were having a good time.  I loved being involved, helping out, and being part of their last meet for the summer.  It motivated me to do my pushups, crunches, and kata when my daughter was not swimming.  Watching all the kids work hard made me want to work hard.  It was hot, but I was not going to let that keep me from doing my daily requirements.  It was an enjoyable and rewarding summer day.

I have been watching the olympics for the last two weeks.  I have enjoyed seeing athletes push themselves to the limits and beyond.  For example Noah Lyles ran the 200 m final in the olympics with covid and won the bronze metal.  Wow!  I know how bad I felt when I had it.  He must have not felt good and he still gave it his all.  Incredible.  I hope I can find that inner heart and strength when the time comes.

My current Challenge progress as of September 17, 2024.
