Way Of The Peaceful Warrior A Book That Changes Lives

I finished reading Way Of The Peaceful Warrior A Book That Changes Lives.  It was a unique book.  I don’t think I have ever read a book like this.  It was hard to tell if the main character Dan is imaging the other characters and actions in the book.  Are they reality or imagination?  There is an interesting part in the book where Dan was going to have a picnic with the other characters Socrates and Joy.  It started to pour rain.   Dan got mad.  He was upset that they are getting soaked, no bus to get them, and the food was ruined.  Socrates said his upset and unhappiness was a product of his thoughts.  His mind was the source of his mood.  Later Socrates and Joy started singing, dancing, and playing in the wet leaves.  Dan let go of his anger.  He joined them rolling in the wet leaves.  He changed how he felt about the situation.   I can relate this scenario to something that happened to me this year.  I lost my wedding ring in the ocean while snorkeling.  I was upset and sad.  I could have let it ruin my whole trip.  I acknowledged my feelings, but knew there was not much I could do to change it.  It was gone forever.  I moved on and let my feelings go.  I had an amazing rest of the trip.  When we arrived home my luggage was missing .  I did the same thing.  It was out of my control and there was nothing I could do to change it.  I did not let that ruin my enjoyment and memories of the trip.  I did eventually get my luggage back in three weeks.  It was mailed from another school that took it on accident.  It was interesting to see that I did learn and relate to this book.

My current Challenge progress as of January 11, 2025.
