Last week I started the Cadet Leadership Course at my JROTC program. It is a two week program at the end of summer that is designed to teach incoming freshman and first year cadets the basic skills and knowledge that they will need to know during the school year. This includes marching, PT (physical training), and classroom lessons. This is my second year on leadership for CLC. I hold the position of group commander, and essentially I oversee the flight commanders and sergeants in my flight. I also get the opportunity to do it with Elinor, since she is in the program with me and we both hold the position of group commander in our respective flights. It’s very hot this year, and therefore not the most enjoyable way to be spending my summer, however it is a great way for me to build on my leadership skills, and refresh myself and my knowledge before the next school year!
