CLC week one

1 min read 158 words 30 views

Last week was week 1 of CLC (Cadet leadership course). This 2 week summer program is for incoming freshman cadets who want a head start in AFJROTC. I was given the position of group commander which oversees a flight commander and two flight sergeants. I staffed CLC last summer as a flight sergeant, so it is nice to have a higher role this year.
Over the 5 days I was in charge of leading morning PT. It was great because I could just make the cadets do a bunch of pushups and situps to get my daily numbers in! I also got miles in because we have to run laps every morning.
I enjoy teaching the new cadets but it gets VERY tiring, especially because it is almost a full school day. Luckily, I get to staff CLC with my friends, like Sonia and Olivia. Having people I like here definitely makes it more fun. 1 more week to go!

  1. Congrats on being group CC — that’s a high leadership position! My son did CLC for AFJROTC and enjoyed it. Sounds like you are as well. May you continue to learn as much from your students as they learn from you 🙂
