CLC Week Two

2 min read 246 words 0 views

Finally completed my last CLC ever! Week two was a lot of fun. On Monday for the drill block, we showcased all of the special teams our unit offers (Colorguard, Saber team, and drill team). Last school year I was the colorguard commander so I helped out a lot with that team. I love colorguard so I didn’t mind helping out our current commander.

In the middle of the week, the senior leadership made quizzes for all of the new freshmen to test the knowledge they learned the previous week. the majority of cadets did very well! We also held an orienteering day where cadets were put into teams of three and were given a compass and a map to find different checkpoints around the school. This was great for the senior leadership because we got 2 hours of free time while the commanders and sergeants were out with their flights.

The last day of CLC was by far my favorite. The Army National Guard came and supplied us with items for our field day. they brought things like a stretcher, a big tire, and they even brought a Humvee. Near the end of the day we had a plank competition where about 20 people competed, me included. I ended up placing first with a 5:30 plank! All the pushups and situps I’ve been doing the past 2 months are really paying off.

These two weeks have been fun but I am very glad that it’s over.
