Today I competed in the Gold Rush Invitational Traditional Karate Tournament. I demonstrated Chinto for kata and Tokumine No Kun for weapons. I won two gold in both kata and weapons. I had one competitor in kata and no competitors for weapons. Every tournament for me makes me nervous, but with practice I feel a little better. I felt like I did the kata with power and strength. I decided to do weapons even without other competitors. I need the practice doing the kata in front of an audience. I really enjoyed watching all the other dojo students compete. I am energized cheering them on. They may or may not hear me, but I feel like I am helping them and encouraging them. I think we did very well as a dojo team. I saw many metals for the students of our dojo. It was a rewarding positive day. Most of the time I spend doing things for my family. Today I did something towards my goal in the black belt challenge. What a growing experience this year has been so far. I look forward to more growing in the future.
