Tri County Wildlife Center

This last weekend I went to the Tri County Wildlife Center.  I learned about all the types of animals they take in and care for.  They take in injured or abandoned wildlife.  They want to rehabilitate them so they can be released in the wild.  Some animals are not able to be released in the wild because they are too injured, too used to humans, or cannot take care of themselves in the wild.    We met a few of the animals that could not be released.  The picture is an opossum that could not be released, but could be used as an education animal.  I did not show the picture of the lady holding him because I did not ask if I could use her picture.  The center is mostly run by volunteers.  Without them those animals takin in would not have had a chance to survive.  I would like to thank all the volunteers who work countless hours to help all the injured wildlife.  They make the world a better place to live.  When I was there I sorted mice to feed the birds of prey they get.  I had to remind myself that all these dead mice were food for the birds of prey.  They died so they could be food for them.  While it was not an easy job it had to be done.  Volunteering is not always easy to do, but it is a worth while way to give back to the community or in this case the animals.  I recommend it to everyone, because you feel good after doing it.  I am so glad Elizabeth introduced the dojo family to the Tri County Wildlife Care Center.
