Finals are over, I did pretty well. I ended off the semester with straight A’s and in turn a 4.0 GPA. So that’s pretty awesome, I’ve been trying to hold a 4.0 for a while and I’ve been able to since 8th grade (I’m in 10th now). Now in high school it really matters because grades are what colleges look at.
Also this weekend there was a tournament up in Auburn at Master Bennati’s dojo. We were invited up there to compete in a kata tournament and it’s been a while since I’ve been at that dojo so I happily accepted. We went up there and Dirk and David covered my 10:30 class, so thank you to them. A little bonus thing that happened was I got to drive on the freeway for the first time because I need driving practice hours so I can get my license. I thought it was going to be super scary but once I was moving it wasn’t all that bad. Anyways, at the tournament I got second in kata, only one thing, I think the nerves and adrenaline got to me because I skipped the whole middle part in my kata. But as sensei says just keep going and act like nothing happened, so that’s what I did. I finished strong and ended up second.
Then, when I was walking out the door they decided to do a weapons division, so I for sure wanted to stay. Luckily I brought my bo just in case. I ended up with first, so I’d say I did pretty well. Overall it was a great experience. There were lots of smiles and fun and that’s really what it’s all about.
Those straight A’s are wonderful!! So proud of you. Great freeway driving and super karate tournament. Saw the video. You look strong and professional. Glad you have good friends in Dirk and David. Love G
A’s in school and Golds in the ring! You’re crushing it sir!
