This past Thursday was the last day of my junior year of high school. So much has happened this school year, good and bad. The majority of my time was spent in my schools’ AFJROTC program, where I did community service, leadership activities, learned about aerospace, and so much more. I ended this school year with straight A’s and my GPA at 3.8. It’s true when people say junior year is the hardest year of high school. This year was HARD. Honestly, the school work wasn’t too bad, it was more of the social aspect. However, I am proud of myself and my friends for the things we had to overcome this year and all of our accomplishments. Senior year up next!
Aside from school, my black belt test has been going very well. I have found that I am less sore than the week prior and I can already feel myself getting stronger. The most difficult part of the test so far has been forcing myself to go on a bike ride every day in the heat. I am very intrigued to see how I am physically feeling in the next couple months.

You’re likely going to be in the best shape of your life within the next few months! The summer heat is the unfortunate consequence of that Sacramento life. That said, winter can be an even more challenging time to get your miles in (unless you love riding in the rain). I generally recommend getting ahead while you can now. Maybe some morning or evening rides to avoid the heat?
I am glad your body is adjusting to all the physical exercise. It will help you in this challenging year.
Awesome start Elinor! And congrats on wrapping up your junior year!
