The school year just ended a few days ago, and I am officially on summer vacation! It’s going to be really nice to have the next couple of months off from school because it will give me a lot of free days to train really hard and get some numbers in for my test. This summer break is unfortunately cut short by three whole weeks because our school district is changing the layout of our entire school year, making it extremely short compared to past summers. Even though it is short, I am still very excited. I am extremely fortunate that my family likes to travel, and my parents take my sister and I on vacations every year. This year, we are taking a trip to the East Coast, where we are going to go to New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, and Massachusetts. Later in the summer, we are going to Oregon, where we are renting out a lake house with a couple of other families that we know. One of my friends and I are also planning a day trip to Stinson Beach, which should be fun. After all of those trips, I have my ROTC summer “camp.” It’s not a sleepaway camp or anything; it’s two weeks long, and it’s hosted at my school during the day. It’s a lot of fun, and I’m really excited to get to do it, especially considering it will be my last time doing it since I am going into my senior year!
