I’ve officially finished the first week of my black belt test!
Honestly, it’s kind of crazy doing this. I’ve been in karate for 7 years, and truthfully, being a black belt always felt a bit unattainable, like something that only happens in movies or to the adults that teach class. But after I moved to the adults class, I started to realize just how close I was to being able to try and earn it. Even though I know that this test is going to be one of the hardest things in my life I will ever do, I’m so excited to be allowed to try and earn it and prove to myself that I can push through and earn this, even though it’s hard and will definitely push me to my limits. I’m also incredibly lucky to have my friends Olivia and Elinor doing this with me. I don’t think I’d even be able to attempt something like this without them.
1 week down 55 to go!

So excited to do this together!
Celebrating your courage and long-term vision, Avi!
Congratulations on starting the black belt challenge. It is great that you will have your friends doing it with you. The support and encouragement you get from them will help you along the way. I am around if you need advice or support also. See you in the dojo.
You’re such an important part of the dojo family Avi! And this test makes it even more so. The whole dojo is behind you!
