Extreme Catchup

2 min read 329 words 0 views

In the past two weeks of me being back in town from my vacation, I have been in the dojo every single day, multiple times a day so that I can catch up on all of my numbers. My dad and I go into the dojo every morning and do ten to twelve sparring rounds each day, and then in the evening I get more sparring rounds in class. I’ve totaled it all up and in two weeks, I have done 205 sparring rounds. So for the people who have been keeping track of my numbers for the past ten months, you aren’t crazy, my percentages have in fact skyrocketed in the past couple of weeks. Not just in sparring though, all of my percentages have gone up at least 15% in each category. I had this fear a few days ago that people would see the extreme increase in my numbers, and think that I might be lying about them to make up for being behind. But I can assure you, I have not been dishonest about any of my numbers, I have just been working my butt off every single day. This hasn’t been easy though. Many injuries have occurred in these past weeks. I have bruises going all up my arms and legs, I’ve broken skin on my knuckles, I hurt one of my knees pretty badly, and I have a really deep bruise going all the way up my left leg. My left leg bruise is probably the worst of them because if someone kicks it in just the right spot in sparring then I have to stop for a second and walk it off before I can continue. Thankfully none of these injuries are serious enough to stop my training. The good news is that I’m on track to finish my sparring rounds earlier than expected, which should give my body enough time to recover before my actual test day!

My current Challenge progress as of July 17, 2026.
