Project Completion

Last weekend, I finished the final stage of my community service project! After weeks of collecting donations, buying the items I was short on, organizing, and planning, I was able to start the final day. Last Saturday started with the card-making process. The dojo was open to students of all ages to come in and make cards that would go inside these packages. I told the students who came to try to write words of encouragement, and other than that, they had complete freedom as to how their cards were to look. I managed to take a look at some of the cards, and I was amazed to see! The kids wrote sweet messages on the cards and drew some really cool drawings. Thank you to all the students who came out to make cards! After all the cards were made, package assembly began. Myself and a team of five other students, who I personally asked to help me with this project, made the bags. We did an assembly line to get all of the items inside the packages, and we ended up making a total of 100 care packages! Thank you to the people who helped me make packages! Last Monday, I dropped the 100 care packages off at the Wellsprings Women’s Center, and they expressed how thankful they were for all that I donated. I received an email from the center a few days ago, thanking me again and saying that they have already had people asking for certain items, and because of all of our care packages, they were able to fulfill those requests. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this project possible!!
