This past week I have been feeling really sick and that has really affected my progression in my test. I couldn’t get any miles in, I could barely do any push-ups or crunches, I couldn’t really do kata, and it was a little harder to get my acts of kindness in. Luckily I was feeling well enough to spar on Thursday but I was going to go to class on Wednesday too but I was just feeling too sick. Both of my parents were saying that if I couldn’t do any of the physical stuff for my test then I could catch up on my reading and meditation and that is exactly what I did. I am thankful I got that extra time to read and meditate on my own because usually if I am really busy during the day it is hard for me to do those. On the days that I am feeling better than usual I try to do some extra work just to catch up for the days I couldn’t do anything.

It’s not uncommon for illness to hit early in the challenge. Your immune system may have taken a hit as you adjust to the new stresses. Make sure you are putting a priority on getting good sleep, decent diet, and drinking lots of water.
I am glad you are feeling better. Good to see you back in the dojo today. I’m glad you were able to do reading and meditation when you were not feeling well.
