During the course of this test, I have unfortunately fallen behind on a good chunk of my numbers. My pushups and sit-ups have been pretty consistent and I haven’t really fallen behind on them at all, but most of the other numbers I fell behind on. In order for me to catch up, I have to spend extra time at the dojo. Sometimes that just means spending an hour on the back mat on a Monday evening or training for simply half an hour in the back if I have time between classes, and other times it means spending my hours on a Sunday, when the dojo is closed, training. My dad will come in with me and he and I will spend anywhere from an hour to four hours there just trying to get as many numbers as we can. He does his pushups, sit-ups, and squats, and I do my pushups, sit-ups, kata, and makiwara. Occasionally we will even spar. Since my dad used to train in the dojo, I’m allowed to spar him for the test. While these days are exhausting, they help make a dent in my numbers and get me a little bit closer to the finish line!
