Community Service Project Progress

I just wrapped up the donations part of my community service project, and I received so many donations. I knew that I was going to get a lot, but I never imagined the sheer numbers of things that I would receive. We have a spare room in my house and it has been absolutely taken over by boxes and boxes of materials for this project. In addition to physical donations that have been collected, I raised just a little over $1,000 in cash. I expected to raise some money, but nowhere near this level. All of this money will help me buy materials that I am short on. Even though I received so many donations, there are still some items that received fewer donations than others. For instance I have almost 500 toothbrushes but only 40 bottles of lotion. I’m going out and buying these extra items so that each package has an equal number of items in them. So far I have bought 100 bags to make 100 packages, however I need to go through my products more thoroughly, see what I can get, and I just might have enough to make 50 additional packages. After everything is purchased, I am going to have a day in a few weeks where anyone from the dojo can come in to draw and make cards that will be put inside of the care packages. The dojo has shown me so much support throughout this entire project and I am extremely grateful for everything that was donated to help me on this journey to finish this project. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
